Yoshino Enters Portable Power Station Market

City of Industry-based Yoshino Technology says it has entered the portable power station and solar generator market. The company said it has launched what it calls "solid state technology" portable power stations, which use battery cell technology which is smaller and lighter than traditiona lithium batteries. The company did not say what kind of battery technology it is using, but says it is using a design with "solid electrolyte" instead of the typicaly liquid electrolytes found in traditional lithium batteries, which it claims "greatly reduces" risk of flammability and overheating.
