ZmBIZI Launches Smartphone, Telecom Service Aimed At Small Businesses
A new, Santa Monica-based startup, ZmBIZI is launching a new, smartphone aimed at small businesses, creators, and entrepreneurs. According to the company, it is launching a smartphone with a built-in point of sale (POS) terminal, aimed at helping small business owners, and tied into a merchant account. The startup says its phone service allows its users to accept payments by physically tapping their contactless enabled cards or Apple Pay and Google pay wallets on the back of its smartphone. The minority-owned company says it is focused on empowering underserved communities The company's co-founder is Alpesh Patel; the company said it has vendors such as Black-owned foodtruck Wings N'Waffles, Latino-owned True Barbershop, and Kori Nicole Beauty in Northridge.
