Irvine-based semiconductor maker Broadcom said this morning that it has added support for the new, Bluetooth v3.0 + HS (High Speed) specification across its line of Bluetooth and InConcert chips and modules. The additional support provides speeds of up to 24 Mbps, using 802.11n WLAN radio. The firm said technology supporting the upgraded standard is now in production, with partners implementing its chips in a mini-PCIe combo module for notebook computers, and single-chip SIP modules for the smart phone market.
