Broadcom Buys Innovision Research & Technology
Irvine-based Broadcom announced today that it is acquiring Innovision Research & Technology PLC, a developer of near-field technology used for short range data communications. The deal is worth approximately $47.5M in cash. Broadcom said its subsidiary Broadcom International Ltd. is making the acquisition of Innovision, which is currently listed on the London AIM. Innovision's wireless ICs are used for short range data communications between devices, such as for RFID tags.
