NantKwest Appoints Manufacturing Exec

Culver City-based cancer immunotherapy developer NantKwest, which is led by billionaire Patrick Soon-Shiong, said this morning that it has named Stephen Farrand, Ph.D., as its new Senior Vice President of Global Manufacturing. Dr. Farrand was previously at Merck Research Laboratories, and also had served at Delta Biotechnology, Sigma Chemical and G. D. Searle. NanKwest said Farrand will help manage its two new production sites in Southern California, including a 45,000 square foot facility in Torrey Pines.
