Rivian Buys Swedish Mapping Company

Irvine-based Rivian Automotive, which develops electric vehicles, said this week that it has acquired Swedish mapping company Iternio. Iternio is the maker of the 'A Better Routeplanner' (ABRP) app. Financial details of the buy were not announced. The route planning app is used by electric vehicle (EV) owners to plan out their routes and charging stops. According to Rivian, Iternio will continue to maintain and improve ABRP as a stand-alone app for drivers of all kinds of EVs, but it will also be integrating ABRP into its in-vehicle navigation systems. Bo Lincoln is the CEO and co-founder of Iternio.
