Rumors have been swirling around Agoura Hills-based THQ since this weekend, when a gaming industry analyst, Peter Skerritt, reported that the videogame maker was either looking for a buyer or shutting down its videogame development efforts, cancelling its 2014 lineup. The rumors were denied by the company, although the firm said it has "made decisions to ensure that the company is strategically addressing the most attractive markets." as part of an "ongoing review" of its business. THQ said in a statement, released to multiple gaming outlets, that it had has not cancelled its 2014 line-up" although it has "dramatically reduced our commitment to the kids' boxed games sector." Exactly what that means--the implication is a major realignment or layoff at the company--has not yet become apparent.
