Userplane Gets Win At KickApps
Los Angeles-based Userplane has scored another win with a online community site, this time with KickApps. According to New York-based KickApps, it has partnered with Userplane to integrate Userplane's live chat, instant messaging, and presence functionality into its platform, which is used to create branded online communities for companies and brands. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. KickApps said it has integrated Userplane's WebChat and Webmessenger products as core features of its platform, which can be enabled by its customers on a self-service basis. The new features will be available at no additional cost to Kickapps customers through Userplane's advertising program; customers can remove that advertising through an advertising buyout with Userplane. Userplane is a subsidiary of AOL.
