Amazon Opening New Fulfillment Center In San Bernardino
Online shopping giant Amazon.com is opening up a new fulfillment center in San Bernardino, the company said on Wednesday, which will be the e-commerce giant's seventh facility in California. Amazon said the new, 1.1 million square foot center will pick, pack, and ship smaller customer items, such as books, electronics and toys, and will create more than 1,000 full time positions. Amazon says it now has over 12,000 full time, hourly associates across six existing fulfillment centers in California. Unlike the higher level, skilled positions associated with the high tech growth closer to the coast, the Inland Empire jobs typically only require a high school degree and the ability to lift up to 49 pounds, plus the ability to speak English.
