Boingo Wireless Links With IndyCar Racing Team
Los Angeles-based Wi-Fi and wireless infrastructure provider Boingo Wireless said today that it has linked up with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, the IndyCar racing team co-owned by late night talk show host David Letterman, as part of the Verizon IndyCar Series. As part of the deal, Boingo Wireless said it will start offering up a 20 percent discount to Army National Guard members who sign up for Boingo's Wi-Fi access plans. The Army National Guard is also a sponsor of Rahal Letterman Lanigan. The two did not announce financial details behind the sponsorship deal. Boingo Wireless has been making a major push recently in public venues such as stadiums and universities, and also has been offering up its service at military bases with the Air Force, Army, and Marine Corp. The company offers up both Wi-Fi access points as well as small cell wireless infrastructure. Rahal Letterman Lanigan (RLL) recently won the Army National Guard sponsorship over competitor Panther Racing.
