BridgeCo Adds $7.5M
El Segundo-based BridgeCo, a developer of semiconductors for the home entertainment market, announced Friday that it has raised $7.5M in a new round of funding. The firm said the new investment came from Earlybird Venture Capital, and private investors Christian Wenger and Brian Long. Long is at private equity firm Atlantic Bridge, and will join the firm's board as Chairman. BridgeCo said the equity funding will go to accelerate technology development, as well as to expands its partner program. BridgeCo develops a multi-core network media processor and supporting components, used for consumer electronics designs. The firm says its technology is being incorporated into products from Denon, Pioneer, Nokia, Harmon-kardon, and Philips.
