DogVacay's Aaron Hirschhorn Dies In Boating Accident
Aaron Hirschhorn, the founder of Santa Monica-based DogVacay, has died, in a tragic boating accident in Miami Beach, Florida on Sunday. Hirschhorn, co-founded DogVacay with wife Karine Nissim back in 2011. Hirschhorn was only 42. Hirschhorn and Nissim had moved to Miami three years ago. The accident on Sunday involved the collision of a 38-foot Chris-Craft motorboat collided with a personal watercraft, which was being driven by Hirschhorn. Hirschhorn is survived by his wife and their three young children. DogVacay was spun out of the Science Inc. startup studio, and Hirschhorn previously had been a venture capitalist at GRP Ventures (now Upfront Ventures) and Monitor Ventures.
