Dvele Picks Up $14M For New Home Building Startup
San Diego-based Dvele, a new, technology startup which is using technology that allows people to order up, custom-febricated homes, and handles everything from design to on-site construction, has raised $14M in a funding round, the company announced on Thursday. The startup said the Series A funding was led by real estate investment company Crescent Real Estate. According to Dvele, the new funds will go towards ramping up production of a new, 75,000 square foot "production foundry", which provides offsite home production and fabrication. Dvele allows users to select and design custom, modern homes which are prefabricated with such features as automatic doors, standard mesh networking, voice- and AI-controlled lighting and temperature controls, solar power and battery backup, and more. The company is led by founder and CEO Kurt Goodjohn, who, with his brother Kris, previously founded designer prefab home company Karoleena.
