Epirus Finds $200M For Directed, Anti-UAV Energy Weapons
Torrance-based Epirus, which is developing directed energy weapons aimed at taking down unmanned aerial vehicles, has raised $200M in its Series C funding round, the company said Tuesday. The funding was led by T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., and also included 8VC, Bedrock, Broom Ventures, EPIQ Capital Group, Gaingels, General Dynamics Land Systems, I Squared Capital, Moore Strategic Ventures, Parkwood, Piedmont Capital Investments, Red Cell Partners and StepStone Group. Epirus develops a high-power microwave (HPM) systems which it says can be used to a layered defense system against hostile drones and other electronic threats.
