FanAI Finds $2.5M For Esports Monetization
Santa Monica-based FanAI, a startup that it using artificial intelligence to identify and optimize sponsorship engagement in the eSports world, has raised $2.5M in a funding round, the company announced this morning. The funding round was led by Courtside Ventures and CRCM Ventures, and also included BITKRAFT Esports Ventures, BDS Capital, Catalyst Sports, Deep Space Ventures, Everblue Management, Greycroft GC Tracker Fund, M Ventures, Rosecliff Ventures, and Sterling VC. FanAI says it has now raised $4.5M in total for its efforts. FanAI said the new funds will go to expand product and data science teams, plus for its "client engagement structure." Johannes Waldstein is founder and CEO of FanAI, and the company says that its tools are already being used by Cloud9, OpTic Gaming, Overwatch League's LA Valiant and NYXL, and the Cav's Legion GC teams.
