Group Hopes To Launch Entrepreneurship Center In South LA
A group is looking to raise $2M for a new, entrepreneurship center in South Los Angeles, which it says will focus on youth and workforce development technology and entrepreneurship center. According to SoLa Impact and Los Angeles City Councilmember Marquee Harris-Dawson, the two are partnering to establish a new center, SoLa Tech West, which will provide provide youth access to tech careers, with the mission to inspire and develop the next generation of South LA technology and entertainment executives, leaders, and entrepreneurs. SoLa Impact said the center will be its second, after one it established in January in collaboration with Riot Games. According to COuncilmember Harris-Dawson and SoLa, they are hoping to raise $2M by December of 2022 for the new center, with work beginning on the project in early 2023; it's unclear if they have raised any funds for the project yet.
