Guidance Software Gets Patent
Pasadena-based Guidance Software reports that it has received a new patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark office. Guidance said that its "Automatic Reconnect and Reacquisition in a Computer Investigation System" patent, number 7,168,000, is the second for the firm. According to the patent office filing, the patent was granted January 23rd. Inventors named on the patent were Kimberly Stone-Kaplan and Matthew Steven Garrett. The patent was filed in March of 2006. Guidance Software is a provider of software used for computer forensics.
