HelloTech Expands Tech Support Service To San Diego

Los Angeles-based HelloTech, the on-demand, in-home technical services company founded by serial entrepreneur and tech investor Richard Wolpert, said it is expanding into San Diego, and has begun offering up its services in the city. The company now offers up its services in Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego. HelloTech taps a work force of college students, who provide in-person technical support to users, with everything from computers to home automation technology. HelloTech says its workforce has come from such local schools as UCLA, USC, along with community colleges and trade schools. The company said it is recruiting college students from UCSD, USD, and SDSU, as well as IIT and local junior colleges, to support its expansion. The company charges $79 an hour for its help, but is currently offering up a promotion for the first hour for $39 an hour as part of its launch in San Diego. Wolpert has been behind LA's AmplifyLA startup accelerator, and was an executive at RealNetworks and Disney.
