HopSkipDrive, Uber For Kids, Gets $3.9M To Expand From LA
Wish there was something as convenient for Uber to tote your kids to and from all their activities? Los Angeles-based HopSkipDrive has raised $3.9M in a funding round, to provide the convenience of Uber with the trust you might give your own nanny. According to HopSkipDrive, the seed funding round was led by Upfront Ventures, and also included FirstMark Capital, Maveron, BBG Ventures, and angel investors Joanne Wilson, among others. The startup was founded by three moms, including CEO Joanne McFarland. The new service requires its drivers to pass background checks, and have at least five years of childcare experience, as parents, nannies, teachers, nurses, or other caregivers. The company says it already has more than 100 drivers in the LA area. More information »
