iTMP Wires Fitness Devices, iPhone
Santa Barbara-based iTMP Technology, a startup developing hardware that connects fitness machines to the Apple iPhone and other smartphones, has launched an effort to connect heart monitors and cycling sensors to the Apple iPhone and other smart phones. iTMP launched a set of Apple iPhone applications this week, which collect data from heart monitors and biking sensors and delivers it to the iPhone and the Internet. The firm said that its hardware plus software will allow users to track their workouts and workouts. iTMP's core technology is SMHEART LINK, a wireless bridge product which ties into heart monitors from Polar, Garmin, Nike, Reebok, Timex Ironman, New Balance and Numetrex, along with biking sensors used to track speed, cadence, and power.
