Kairos Ventures Gets $58M For Third Fund

Los Angeles-based venture capital investor Kairos Ventures announced today that it has raised $58M for its third fund (Fund III). The investor--which makes investments in companies in the physical and life sciences areas--said that it has already made 27 investments out of Fund II. Kairos was founded by Jim Demetriades. The company specifically focuses on working with patent producing universities and research institutions to identify and support the commercialization of transformative discoveries at those institutions. The firm said it has, in total, invested in over 55 companies across all of its funds. Kairos had begun fundraising efforts on Fund III back in 2019.
