LATimes.com Buys Stake In Social News Firm
The Los Angeles Times Media Group said Tuesday that it has taken a small equity stake in Mixx, a McLean, Virginia-based firm which provides personalization and social media tools for publishers. Financial terms were not disclosed. According to the LA Times, the deal comes as part of an effort to add social networking and personalization to the newspaper's web site. Mixx will add social networking, bookmarking, public and private groups, as well as other tools for LAtimes.com users. Mixx is owned by Recommended Reading Inc.
