MaestroDev, Winston Damarillo's Latest Firm, Uncloaks At JavaOne

Manhattan Beach-based MaestroDev, a firm developing Java build, test, and release tools for the software development community, has uncloaked at the JavaOne conference, exposing the latest firm started by GlueCode founder Winston Damarillo. The firm--which was in a closed, stealth beta until recently--said it is developing a single application interface to manage "every step of the DevOps cycle". The firm appears to be the company Damarillo told socalTECH in July which had just received venture funding. MaestroDev lists venture capitalist Leo Spiegel, of Mission Ventures, as a board member; Damarillo serves as Chairman. Damarillo is behind a number of successful firms based on open source, the most notable of which was Gluecode, which he sold to IBM in 2005. He's currently heading up Morphlabs, which shares the same address as MaestroDev. As with Damarillo's other startups, it appears that MaestroDev is leveraging Damarillo's Phillipine development operations. Doug Dennington--who was VP of Business Development at GlueCode--serves as President of MaestroDev. More information »
