MGID Debuts New Anti Ad-Blocking Product
Santa Monica-based MGID, a provider of native advertising software and a native advertising network, said last week that it has launched a new, anti-ad blocking product. The company said its new technology allows publishers to trigger warnings and bypasses blocking attempts by software ad blockers. MGID's new product lets publishers set anti ad blocking features on ads, ranging from a notice asking users to disable their ad blockers in order to display free content; to blocking access to a site when ad blockers are used; and finally, which re-inserts content and ads even if an ad blocker is used. MGID is looking to make its product appealing to publishers, who have been seeing a loss of revenues due to the proliferation of ad blocking software.
