Miso Robotics Selected By White Castle For Pilot Project

Pasadena-based robot developer Miso Robotics reported this morning that it has been selected for a pilot project by White Castle, the iconic Midwest fast food chain. According to Miso Robotics and White Castle, White Castle will bring a new version of Flippy, Miso's automated kitchen robot, into kitchens for testing and future integration. The two specifically said that the robot will be used for autonomous frying, to help enhanced production speeds, improved labor allocation and an added layer of health and safety in the cooking process. Financial impact of the win was not announced. The two said that the move, in part, is a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, with White Castle's decision to pilot Flippy in the kitchen to help reduce human contact with food during the cooking process. White Castle says is hopes to have Flippy deployed later this fall. Miso Robotics is led by CEO and co-founder Buck Jordan.
