ORFID Signs Deal With BASF
Los Angeles-based ORFID has signed a deal with BASF Future Business BmbH, to develop printable organic electronics, the firm said yesterday. The two companies will collaborate on printable organic electronic devices for display backplanes, RFID tags, and other electronics products. ORFID said that BASF will provide organic materials, materials expertise, and financial resources for development and commercialization of its technology. ORFID has been developing organic electronics which can be manufactured using printing techniques, and which are being targeted at printed RFID tags and other flexible electronic products. ORFID is a UCLA spinoff that is funded by Convergent Ventures, Precision Dynamics, and the Tech Coast Angels.
