QLogic Announces 8Gb Fibre Channel Products
Aliso Viejo-based storage area networking developer QLogic said today that it has revealed a portfolio of 8Gb Fibre Channel devices. The new products include Fibre Channel switches and host bus adapters, used for the storage area networking market. According to QLogic, the new products have entered testing and are ready for major OEMs to qualify. 8Gb Fibre Channel is the next technology boost to the Fibre Channel storage area networking protocol; current hardware runs at 4Gb. The new lineup includes single and dual port HBAs, blade server HBAs, and a selection of Fibre Channel switch products. Fibre Channel is a standard for the storage market used by enterprise IT operations for connecting servers and storage.
