Qualcomm Ordered To Pay $814.9M Refund to BlackBerry
San Diego-based Qualcomm was ordered to pay $814.9 million, plus interest and attorney's fees, to BlackBerry, as part of an arbitration related to the company's royalties for certain past sales of subscriber units, Qualcomm said on Wednesday. The arbitration award came as a result of a contract dispute between the companies relating to a per-unit royalty cap program at Qualcomm. Qualcomm said it did not agree with the decision, but that the order is binding and not appealable.
