Qualcomm Teams On 3D Computer Vision Technology
San Diego-based Qualcomm announced this morning that its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, and Taiwan-based Himax Technologies, are collaborating on a 3D depth sensing camera systems, aimed at use in computer vision. According to the companies, they effort will enable computer vision capabilities for use cases such as biometric face authentication, 3D reconstruction, and scene perception for mobile, IoT, surveillance, automotive and AR/VR. Financial details of the partnership were not announced. The two said they will use Qualcomm's Spectra technology in addition to wafer optics, sensing, driver, and module integration from Himax.
