Los Angeles-based SpaceX has just filed paperwork with the FCC, saying it would like permission to launch its very own fleet of 4,425 satellite into space, to provide global broadband and communications services. The satellite constellation will operate on the Ku and Ka bands, according to the filing, and are expected to have a lifetime in space of just 5 years.
