Teledyne: Our Sensors Key Part Of NASA's Asteroid Mission

Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne Technologies is hailing the arrival of the NASA OSIRIS-REx asteroid mission yesterday, saying that its sensors were a key part of that mission, aimed at investigating how planets formed, life began, and investigating how asteroids impact Earth. According to Teledyne, the majority of the image sensor technologies used in the OSIRIS-REx were developed by Teledyne. Teledyne says its sensors are used in the OSIRIS-REx Camera Suite (OCAMS), which is being used to map the entire asteroid and determine where the OSIRIS-REx will take a sample of the asteroid. The space probe is expected to stay at the Bennu asteroid for 500 days, before returning to earth with an asteroid sample.
