TheBouqs Raises $6M For Direct-From-Farm Flower Delivery
Venice, California-based online flower delivery service TheBouqs said this morning that it has raised $6M in a Series A financing, to go towards expansion of its team, delivery outside the US, and scaling of its technology and infrastructure. The funding was led by Azure Capital Partners, and also included KEC Ventures, Quest Venture Partners, SG-VC, and Siemer Ventures. The startup--led by John Tabis--has its own network of flower farms, which ship directly to consumers. The company lets users order flowers via iOS and Android apps, plus via the its website. As part of the funding, Paul Ferris, General Partner at Azure Capital Partners, join's the company's board. TheBouqs is led by John Tabis, and its advisors also include Brian Lee (Legalzoom, ShoeDazzle), Andy Dunn (Bonobos), Jason Nazar (Docstoc), John Powers (EdgeCast), and Mich Mathews (formerly of Microsoft).
