Viasat Satellite In Integration, Testing
Carlsbad-based communications satellite operator Viasat reports that the first satellite in a new satellite constellation being developed by the company is now in final spacecraft integration and testing. According to ViaSat, the first satellite in its ViaSat-3 global constellation was recently shipped to the Boeing Satellite Systems facility in El Segundo, and is now targeted for launch in early calendar year 2022. ViaSat said that its ViaSat-3 satellite will cover nearly the entire globe, and are expected to deliver over 3,000 Gigabits per second (Gbps) of capacity — or 3 Terabits per second (Tbps).
