QLess Gets Wins For Line Management

Pasadena-based QLess, a developer of artificial intelligence software for managing lines, says it has scored a number of wins with local governments, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The company said that both the City of South Gate City Hall and the City of San Joaquin in California have adopted its customer interaction management (CIM) tool, which it says virtually eliminates the need for lines and waiting rooms. The company's software allows for "virtual check-ins" for appointments and provides real-time, SMS updates to individuals on where they are in line and expected wait times--which it says can help organizations support government-mandated and voluntary social distancing efforts. Financial impact of those wins were not announced. The company says it uses artificial intelligence to help drive its mobile tool. QLess is led by CEO Kevin Grauman; the company has been around since 2007. The company most recently announced a funding round back in 2017, when it took $5.5M from Palisades Growth Capital and Act One Ventures.
